About Me
Hey there! My name is Ashley, I am 13 years old, and I'm from Carlsbad, California. I'm currently in my freshman year of high school and am a part of Sage Creek Dance Company. Making Dance Company freshman year was such a blessing and I can't wait for the memories to follow! I love to dance because it's an art form that allows you to be inspired while also inspiring others in return.
Dance Experience
I've been dancing ever since I was 2 and a half years old. I started dancing because when I was younger, my mom saw that I liked to move my feet around to the rhythms of music. So, she signed me up for tap at Carlsbad Dance Centre, and as I grew older, she started to sign me up for more styles of dance. I joined CDC's competition team in 2014 and competed in jazz, tap, and hip hop.
In late 2015, I left Carlsbad Dance Centre and began dancing at Pacific Motion Dance Center, which is where I currently dance. I have been dancing with PMDC for almost four years now and have also been involved in their Performance Company ever since I started dancing with them. I've performed in all of my studio's recitals and recently, my tap class was invited to a choreographer's showcase in Temecula, where we performed our tap number. I have also performed at local fundraisers and retirement homes with the Performance Company at PMDC.
Last year, I began competing again with Pacific Motion. I went to various dance competitions such as REVEL and Dance Masters Pacific Coast with a jazz solo. At Dance Masters Pacific Coast, I won 1st Overall in the Competitive Senior Solo Age 13-14 Division.
